Dr. Scott W. Owens grew up in Greene County, Alabama, on a cotton and dairy farm. In 1981 he received a bachelor's degree in Animal and Dairy Science from Auburn University. In 1983 he graduated from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, and the next year was awarded the Master of Science degree in animal physiology from Auburn. He practiced veterinary medicine in Blount County, Alabama, and Shelbyville, Tennessee, before relocating to Mobile County in 1987. In 1993 he established his practice in Semmes. The present facility of Animal Care of Mobile County was completed in October of 2010. Almost thirty years of veterinary medical experience in small animal and equine practice enable Dr. Owens to provide knowledgeable, insightful, and innovative expertise in care of a variety of animals.
